Surinity Alpacas

Surinity Alpacas in Te Horo offer you the opportunity to be alongside Suri Alpacas.

Suri Alpacas have very fine wool and were used by the nobles in Peru to make their garments. As well they can form very strong empathetic bonds with humans.

At SA you will be able to feed the adults and their cria (young). You will also be able to “trek” with and alpaca through the paddocks and also through a tracked totara forest.

There are other programmes at SA. This includes a programme for students to have “animal encounters”. This will involve handling and feeding young animals; chickens, calves, and alpacas. As well there are our therapy dogs.

Alpaca Trekking

Take some time out for yourself and have an encounter with a beautiful alpaca.

At Surinity Farm you will be able to walk with the alpacas through a totara forest and through their paddocks, as well as hand feed them. You can feel their soft fine wool that was so sought after by the Incas in Peru.
